Washington DC, USA, 2024
In a world where our attention is bought and sold, time and space is harder to come by. We’re conditioned to stay productive and busy at the expense of our well being.
For DC Walls, in collaboration with NASA, I had the chance to think about literal “space” alongside the personal space I’ve been trying to find this year.
Inspired by insignia patches from space missions but applying some of that aesthetic and attitude to looking after ourselves in a weird world that seems to not listen to what people actually need, to feel ok.
The focus was less about the space mission and more about community, and the people we choose.
Astronauts report a deep sense of unity and compassion when seeing Earth from space—feelings that seem more and more rare when locked into the infinite scroll of frustrating news stories of division and inequality.
Distraction is often the main attraction, pulling us away from what matters. Taking back our time and space to focus on what really matters, feels more important than ever.
I want to thank some of the kindest and caring people who made this happen and gave me the chance to have this space
